Committed to promoting excellence in design through partnerships with international museums and organisations, Hong Kong Design Institute (HKDI) and Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (IVE) (Lee Wai Lee), member institutions of the Vocational Training Council (VTC), are delighted to present the Asian debut of “Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec – Urban Daydreaming”

14 proposals were selected for the Hong Kong exhibition, each of which explores different ways to incorporate nature into urban spaces. Very much like a large, open sketchbook, the solutions are presented as a meander through models and films. The immersive staging of this exhibition aims to transport the visitor into different scenarios like that of a play.  The concept behind the majority of these ideas is rooted in the way nature interacts with the city and each scenario takes into consideration urban functions and suggests a new direction in the relationship between buildings, the quality of a pavement, the positioning of a fountain, the planting of a jungle: all these human considerations that would make the city a place of enchantment.
