YUM CHA, Hong Kong’s destination of choice for dim sum and local delights, will celebrate Halloween this year with creatively spooky offerings. With four destinations in Central, Tsim Sha Tsui, Causeway Bay and Mongkok the brand has made a name for itself as a trendy hot spot where guests can enjoy innovative takes on traditional dim sum.

Falling on the last day of October, Halloween is a frightful celebration with ancient Celtic origins. Observed frequently with visits to haunted attractions, trick-or-treating by children and costume parties, local Hong Kong foodies can now celebrate Halloween with hair-raising dishes brought to town by YUM CHA.

YUM CHA will offer scary yet exhilarating dishes such as Steamed Mini Red Bean Pumpkins (HK$49 for 3 pcs) and Steamed Shrimp Dumplings (HK$59 for 3 pcs). Frightening Halloween inspired dim sums will also include the BBQ Pork Finger Puffs (HK$59 for 3 pcs) and Flying Bats Wontons (HK$59 for 4 pcs). A picture perfect dish, guests sampling the Steamed Mummy Sausage Buns (HK$59 for 2 pieces) and Green Tea Boiled Egg with Dragon’s Beard Candy (HK$49 for 1 pc) will surely let their cameras take the first bite.

A time for catching up and a celebration of close connections, YUM CHA bears the essence of what is valued utmost in Chinese culture – reunions. A Chinese tradition revered by many, the act of YUM CHA bears the direct translation of “drink tea” and involves frequent get-togethers with friends, loved ones and colleagues over an abundance of delicious bite sized dishes.

About YUM CHA’s Culinary Team
Chef Winson Yip has a strong passion for dim sums which stem from his family’s long standing culinary background. The young chef has an extensive experience of over 10 years in the hospitality industry, and has helmed YUM CHA’s opening culinary team since its assembly, reinterpreting traditional dim sums with his sensational Hot Custard Molten Buns and Spicy Minced Pork & Shrimp with Assorted Vegetable Buns.

Chef KC Mak has over 28 years of experience in Chinese cuisine, and was the head chef of several renowned five-star hotels in the region, injecting pan-Asian elements into his impeccable culinary creations.
