Plaza Premium Group (PPG), the global leader in 360-degree airport hospitality and passenger service solutions, launches “Waves of Wonder | A Taste of Taiwan” experience at Plaza Premium Lounge and Plaza Premium First, Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) in collaboration with the Taiwan Tourism Administration Kuala Lumpur Office.
From today to 20 December 2026, the campaign brings the flavours of Taiwan into the airport lounge dining experience, giving travellers an opportunity to discover Taiwan’s culinary culture before setting off on their journeys.
During the campaign, Plaza Premium Lounges will feature a selection of Taiwanese specialties, including Pickled Peeled Chili Pepper Soup Noodle with Mushrooms, Taro Pasty, Butter Small Crispy Cake served alongside Taiwanese oolong tea and black tea.

Built around the concept of “First Taste Before Flying Out,” the campaign invites travellers to experience Taiwan through its food even before arriving in the destination. The culinary experience offers an introduction to Taiwan’s rich flavours and cultural appeal, inspiring travellers to discover the destination in person.
To cater to the dining preferences of the Malaysian market, PPG’s culinary team has carefully considered ingredient pairings and food presentation, bringing the distinctive characteristics of Taiwanese cuisine together with local dining preferences.
Beyond the culinary experience, the campaign introduces travellers to Taiwan’s diverse attractions , from its scenic landscapes and vibrant cities to its local accommodation options. Through destination-inspired displays and travel information, travellers can discover more about Taiwan and find inspiration for a future trip.
From 19 November to 20 December 2026, travellers can also take part in a contest via the Smart Traveller App for a chance to win a range of Taiwan travel prizes worth more than RM50,000. Prizes include four return air tickets between Kuala Lumpur and Taipei, accommodation vouchers and souvenir vouchers.Participation is simple. Cavin Loh, Regional General Manager of Plaza Premium Group, said, “We are delighted to partner with the Taiwan Tourism Administration to bring Taiwan to life for travellers at KLIA through its food, culture and travel experiences, giving them a first taste of the destination before they even board. Our extensive global lounge network has become a powerful platform for destinations to showcase their culture. We look forward to building on this collaboration, bringing more destination experiences to global travellers across our network and inspiring them to discover the world beyond the airport."

Dr Lien Yu-Ping, Representative Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Malaysia , said the collaboration with Plaza Premium Group provides an opportunity to introduce Taiwan to travellers through its cuisine, tourism information and interactive experiences. By bringing Taiwan closer to travellers while they are at the airport, the campaign aims to turn their curiosity into inspiration for a future visit.
Dr Lien noted that Malaysia has long been an important market for Taiwan’s tourism promotion. In addition to visiting Taiwan as their final destination, travellers can also choose to transit through the island. To encourage them to make the most of their stopovers, the Taiwan Tourism Administration has introduced initiatives such as “Transit in Taiwan · Gifts Await!” and the “Free Half-Day Tour,” which allow eligible transit passengers to leave the airport and explore Taiwan during their short stay.
Meanwhile, the Taiwan Tourism Administration launched “Return to Taiwan, Double Your Luck” on 1 October 2026 to encourage previous visitors to return to Taiwan and bring family members or friends along to experience the destination together.
Under the programme, eligible international independent travellers who have previously entered Taiwan on or after 1 January 2023 may qualify for NT$5,000 in electronic consumer credit. Eligible companions travelling with them may also qualify for an additional NT$3,000, bringing the combined benefit for the returning traveller and one eligible companion to as much as NT$8,000, subject to the programme’s terms and conditions.

From a warm bowl of Taiwanese pickled chilli pepper soup noodles to a cup of oolong tea, “Waves of Wonder | A Taste of Taiwan” offers travellers a first taste of Taiwan at the airport, with the hope of inspiring them to experience the destination for themselves.
Start your Taiwan journey with a taste of Taiwan at the airport — and stand a chance to win your next trip to Taiwan.
