Leading global hospitality company Hilton has appointed industry veteran Etienne Dalançon as general manager of the highly anticipated Waldorf Astoria Kuala Lumpur, set to open in late 2026. With over two decades of expertise inluxury hospitality and a proven track record of operational excellence, Dalançon will spearhead the launch of the landmark property, bringing the iconic Waldorf Astoria brand to Malaysia for the very first time.


Perfectly situated in the heart of the Golden Triangle within the vibrant Bukit Bintang district, Waldorf Astoria Kuala Lumpur will feature 268 expansive suites, seven bespoke culinary and cocktail experiences, a world-class wellness center, and impressive meeting and event spaces, all curated to offer guests an atmosphere of timeless elegance and effortless luxury.

Dalançon joins Waldorf Astoria Kuala Lumpur following his acclaimed tenure as general manager of Waldorf Astoria Maldives Ithaafushi, where he elevated the property to global recognition, garnering top honors in Travel + Leisure World’s Best Awards and Conde Nast Traveler’s Readers’ Choice Awards. Under his leadership, the resort also achieved the prestigious five-star ranking by the Forbes Travel Guide Star Awards.
Dalançon brings a wealth of international experience, having held senior leadership roles in luxury hotels across Asia and Europe. His strategic vision and multicultural acumen have contributed to the successful launch and positioning of several high-profile properties.
