Kobe beef is renowned worldwide for its exceptional marbling, tenderness, and flavor. It originates from purebred Tajima strain Wagyu cattle in Hyogo Prefecture, which are raised using traditional methods to ensure the best texture and flavor. Only beef that meets the strict standards of the Kobe Beef Distribution & Promotion Council, based on marbling, weight, and meat quality, can be certified as Kobe beef.
Kobe beef is extremely rare! Each year, only about 4,000 Tajima-gyu cattle are slaughtered, with 40% of the beef being exported. In 2023, Malaysia imported fewer than 10 certified Kobe cattle, and Maria’s SteakCafe became one of the first restaurants in Malaysia to offer this authentic meat, a great honor for local food enthusiasts!
Maria’s SteakCafe began 25 years ago in a cozy family kitchen in Ipoh, driven by a passion for food.
