Located on the third floor of Regent Taipei, the newly Michelin-starred Silks House is a top choice for Cantonese cuisine among local gourmets and has long been one of the hardest restaurants to book in Taipei.

In 2023 and 2024, the restaurant was ranked as the No. 1 Chinese Restaurant in Taiwan by Opinionated About Dining (OAD). In 2024, it was also named Best Restaurant of the Year by Tatler Dining Asia’s 100 Best Restaurants. For three consecutive years, it has received the highest number of plates in the “500 Plates Awards,” making it Top in Taiwan. This year, it also made its debut on the prestigious Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2026 list, ranking 64th.

Since 2020, Silks House has been selected for six consecutive years in the Michelin Guide Taipei, yet it has never received a star. Each year after the list is announced, both loyal patrons and new diners express disappointment on its behalf, making it something of a perennial “overlooked gem” on the Michelin list. This year, however, Silks House finally broke through, earning its first Michelin Star and turning years of anticipation into a well-deserved recognition.

Even without Michelin stars in previous years, it continued to win over diners by incorporating local Taiwanese ingredients into refined Cantonese culinary techniques, maintaining enduring popularity. Its long-awaited Michelin Star is a testament to the restaurant’s commitment to elevating Cantonese cuisine while staying rooted in Taiwan’s rich culinary landscape.

Silks House is led by Hong Kong–born, Director of Chinese Culinary Chef Max Wo, who brings over 30 years of experience in Cantonese cuisine along with extensive international exposure. He has a keen ability to capture the essence of each season, transforming seasonal ingredients through precise Cantonese techniques and innovative thinking. Whether it’s premium seasonal seafood or intricately crafted dim sum, each creation reflects both the timeless traditions and contemporary expression of Cantonese cuisine.

The restaurant blends traditional Chinese calligraphy with modern lighting and glass décor, creating an elegant atmosphere where classical and contemporary elements intertwine. It also features ten private dining rooms accommodating 6 to 50 guests. Whether for private gatherings, business banquets, or exclusive celebrations, guests can enjoy the refined artistry of Cantonese dining alongside attentive, thoughtful service.
