In a powerful display of purpose and unity, L’OCCITANE Malaysia successfully hosted the 6th edition of its annual charity fun run — Race for Vision — on 20 July 2025, further advancing its long-standing mission to prevent avoidable blindness and champion a world where everyone can see and experience the beauty of nature.

As the first L’OCCITANE market globally to introduce this meaningful community initiative, Malaysia continues to lead with compassion and commitment, sparking tangible change in local communities and setting a precedent for purposeful brand action within the region.

This year, over 3,000 participants joined the cause, running not just for wellness, but for impact. At the heart of the event was the presence of our visually impaired friends from the Malaysian Association for the Blind (MAB), whose participation stood as a powerful testament to strength, dignity, and inclusivity. Their courage reminded everyone of the very reason we run — to break barriers, restore dignity, and open eyes to brighter possibilities.

Adding to the soul of the race were our invited content creators and volunteers, who walked hand-in-hand with the visually impaired participants — offering not only physical guidance, but emotional connection and heartfelt solidarity. It was a race defined not by speed, but by empathy.

In a meaningful stride forward, RM50,000 was donated to NGO: Pertubuhan Mata Kasih Kuala Lumpur in support of EYE LAB, a pioneering mobile initiative that brings essential eye screenings, treatment, and education directly to underserved schools and communities across the Klang Valley. This effort represents a critical step in ensuring that no student’s future is dimmed due to preventable vision issues.

Staying true to L’OCCITANE’s commitment to sustainability, this year’s Race for Vision took meaningful steps to reduce environmental impact. Each participant proudly received a one-of-a-kind finisher’s medal crafted from 75 kilograms of recycled plastic beauty empties, collected through L’OCCITANE’s Big Little Things recycling program — transforming waste into a powerful symbol of purpose and change To ensure the event left no waste behind, L’OCCITANE collaborated with recycling partner AACE to manage post-run clean-up efforts. Together, they successfully diverted 532 PET bottles (12.1 kg) and 512 HDPE caps (0.768 kg) from polluting landfills and oceans.

The event wrapped up on a high note with an exciting lucky draw session, where participants walked away with prizes worth over RM22,000, generously contributed by our valued sponsors — a fitting celebration of community, care, and shared impact.

“Being a Cultivator of Change means acting with courage, collaborating with purpose, and contributing meaningfully to community (people) and the Earth (planet). Race for Vision is more than a fun run — it’s a movement that reminds us of the power of community when we come together for a cause that matters.”

As Race for Vision continues to grow, it serves as a beacon of what is possible when businesses act with heart. L’OCCITANE Malaysia remains deeply committed to its global vision of Caring for Sight, working toward a future where vision care is a right — not a privilege — and sustainability is a shared responsibility.

Because together, we can see a better tomorrow.
