At this well ventilated, dry floored market, you will find store owners selling an incredible range of specially selected fresh fruits, vegetables, seafood and poultry from the kingdom and beyond.
Our mission was to satiate the durian lover in us with the infamously sweet and incredibly creamy Kanyao, otherwise known as the long stem durian which was considered a prized breed due to the limited quantity produced. As such, it was only served to the King of Thailand in the yesteryears. With such a reputation, it is no wonder that the Kanyao is the most expensive durian in Thailand with a hefty price tag of THB180 for 100g!
If the pungent smell is not your cup of tea, there is a small food court located within the market where stall owners are seen cooking up a storm, whipping up traditional local delights of Thailand in a sanitised environment.
